The Food/Body/Mind Approach
Our mission is to improve peoples’ lives by helping clients reach their ideal weight and sustain this over time. The Jenny Craig Programme (see options) provides a safe and scientifically sound approach to weight loss. It builds on several features shown through research to be effective for weight management, such as portion-controlled meal replacements; a low energy density menu; increased physical activity; and a motivational approach to counselling for behaviour change. Our programme is designed by our team of Corporate Registered Dietitians in consultation with our expert Medical Advisory Board, and reflects the latest research in nutrition, physical activity and behaviour change for weight management and health improvement.
Food – Healthy Eating Habits
Jenny Craig clients receive a personalised calorie level designed to promote a weekly weight loss of 1-2lb, or 1% of your current weight. If a client has chosen the Jenny Craig Programme or Jenny Food, the menu includes Jenny Craig meals and snacks, which serve as a model for balance, variety and moderation in food choices – without compromising on flavour. Our clients supplement these foods with their own fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, reduced-fat dairy and heart-healthy fats. Then, when they are halfway to their ideal weight, clients are transitioned onto a meal plan that includes more of their own foods. Jenny Craig also recommends multivitamin and mineral supplements to ensure our clients are receiving essential vitamins and minerals as part of a healthy reduced calorie plan.
Body – an Active Lifestyle
The Jenny Craig stage-based approach to physical activity was developed in association with The Cooper Institute, using validated strategies.1 The programme is designed to help clients gradually increase their activity level to a goal of 30 minutes or more of moderate activity, at least five days a week, during the weight loss phase of the programme.

Mind – a Balanced Approach
The Jenny Craig one-to-one consultations support client’s weight loss with motivation-based counselling. The programme is designed to help strengthen their ability to self-monitor, set goals, and solve problems as a solid foundation for behavioural change. During weekly private phone consultations, they’ll receive personalised education that focuses on our three success factors for healthy weight loss: food, body and mind.

How Effective is the Jenny Craig Programme?
Based on research by The Cooper Institute of 60,164 Jenny Craig clients, those who attended 85% of their consultations had at the end of 13/26/52 weeks lost 8%/12%/15% of initial weight, respectively.2 These results are equivalent to or exceed those reported for intensive behavioural and medication-based interventions.
