As his 50th birthday loomed, head of marketing Jonathan Michelmore was feeling increasingly unhappy with his appearance.

“Photos were starting to reveal a person I no longer recognised,” recalls Jonathan, “and most of my clothes were getting too tight to wear.

“But my diet consisted mainly of convenience food, takeaways, crisps, chocolate and ice cream, so it wasn’t that surprising that the scales had hit 14 stone 4lbs.”

The opportunity to take part in a London to Paris bike ride for charity gave Jonathan the incentive he needed to get into shape.

Having never dieted before, my main worry was that I would be hungry, but this wasn’t the case at all. Because the food is all nutritionally balanced, I was amazed to discover I was eating more than before but because the food was of a better quality, my body was satisfied and I was able to lose weight.

“I had been thinking about tackling my ever expanding waistline for a while. My aim was to restore pride in my appearance by getting back to the weight I was in my 20s and 30s. The bike ride gave me the final push I needed.”

Having heard about the Jenny Craig Programme from a colleague at work, Jonathan signed up and was immediately impressed.

Three months after starting on the Programme, Jonathan was delighted to discover he’d reached his goal weight of 12 ½ stone – having dropped 1 stone and 11lbs - and lost 4 inches around his waist in the process!
