When she was diagnosed with MS, Lynnette Davies, 53, from Swansea realised that being overweight would significantly add to her health problems. The MS was going to make her more immobile which would make exercise harder and more weight likely to go on.
So mum of two Lynnette sensibly decided to embark on a weight loss programme that would not only help her lose her excess pounds and relieve some of the strain on her body, but also help her keep the weight off.
I was on the Jenny Craig Programme for around 5 months and I spoke to Lea every week. She kept me motivated and focused – and celebrated all my successes with me. It made the world of difference
“I’d seen ads for Jenny Craig on the TV and the fact that the food was delivered really appealed to me,” says Lynnette. “Before my diet, I used to eat anything and everything – in large quantities – so having really tasty, nutritiously balanced and portion controlled food brought to my door was fantastic.”
Lynnette also really benefited from her weekly consultations with her consultant Leanne.

Five months later and Lynnette had dropped almost two stone (23lbs), going from a size 16 to a size 10 in the process.
I also have far more confidence which was an unexpected – but very welcome – side effect. All my friends and family have commented on it – they say it’s like having a different person around!
“I have learnt how to eat properly during my time on Jenny Craig – lessons that I will use for the rest of my life. My diet is so much healthier now, with much more fruit and veg than I was eating before. I feel the benefits of this every day - and not being so overweight has definitely had a positive effect on my MS.

“And I’ve even been able to get into a favourite little black dress which I thought I could never wear again but couldn’t bear to throw away – what a fantastic feeling that was!”
