Mummy blogger and stay at home mum Sabina Green, 35, from Peterborough was shocked to realise how much weight she had put on after the birth of her children.

Before her first baby was born in 2008, Sabina had never had a weight problem. A regular size 10/12 and a frequent visitor to the gym, she had a healthy attitude towards food and had never needed to diet.

But – like many women – all that changed when she got pregnant.

I was mortified when I saw that photo. I thought I’d lost quite a bit of weight as it was taken months after my son was born, but infact I looked bigger than ever. That’s when I decided I had to get back to my pre-baby weight of 10 stone.

“During my first pregnancy, I really did eat for two. If I fancied it, I ate it, so by the time my daughter was born I had piled on 3 stone. I managed to lose about a stone and a half by doing lots of walking, but didn’t make that much of an effort to lose the rest as I knew I would be having another baby at some point.”

By the time she was expecting her second baby, Sabina had got into the habit of eating whatever she wanted and when her son was born in the winter, she was able to hide under layers of baggy clothes.

But by the following spring, Sabina’s weight had crept up to 11 ½ stone. Her x-moment came when she tried to get into some of her pre-pregnancy clothes, only to find they were far too small. An unflattering photograph of herself taken by a friend also spurred her into action.

“I was mortified when I saw that photo. I thought I’d lost quite a bit of weight as it was taken months after my son was born, but infact I looked bigger than ever. That’s when I decided I had to get back to my pre-baby weight of 10 stone.”

Having heard about Jenny Craig from a friend, Sabina decided that the structured approach - and having all her food delivered to the door - would not only suit her but also give her a little break from cooking!

“I loved not having to think about calories or measuring out portions – everything was done for me. As time has gone on, though, I’ve learnt how to plan my food intake and put together a balanced meal – lessons that will last me a lifetime and enable me to keep the weight off.

Losing this weight has changed my life in lots of different ways. I’ve started taking the kids swimming because I don’t feel bad in a swimsuit. I’m confident enough to introduce myself to people at blogger events instead of trying to blend into the background.

“And all the food tasted really good. I loved the breakfasts and the Thai Chicken Curry, risottos and meatballs were my dinner favourites.”

Sabina also found her consultations with Alex invaluable, ensuring she stayed motivated and determined to keep going.

“I couldn’t recommend my consultant Alex highly enough. He was so positive and supportive, even on the weeks when I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped. He feels like a friend I’ve known for years.”

So – three months later and Sabina has surpassed her goal of 10 stone and is now a slinky 9 stone 10lbs, having lost over a stone and a half!

“Losing this weight has changed my life in lots of different ways. I’ve started taking the kids swimming because I don’t feel bad in a swimsuit. I’m confident enough to introduce myself to people at blogger events instead of trying to blend into the background. And I can wear nice clothes and feel like a yummy mummy. Thank you, Jenny Craig!”
